Most parks and gardens in Paris are usually closing between 8.30 and 10pm in Summer. During the recent heatwave the municipality left many parks open all night to offer cool places to Parisians. From next week, four parks will stay open all night from Thursday to Saturday until the end of August. The new measure decided today will be a first in Paris and will apply to: Parc Monceau (8th arrondissement), Parc Montsouris (14th arrondissement), Parc André-Citroën (15th arrondissement) and Parc des Buttes-Chaumont (19th arrondissement).

The City council calls for respect, cleanliness, exhorting people who will stay in the parks at night to show a civic-minded attitude. Therefore barbecues, alcohol and percussions (djembes, drums…) are strictly forbidden and patrols will be dispatched to ensure the safety of all park visitors. However it may reassure you to know that picnics are welcome!
