Last Updated: 17 May 2020

This is quite a special post that I’m writing today. I am so thrilled to let you know that I’ve just opened my Patreon page for French Moments. Check out the information below to find out more about this new project we’re launching and be part of the French Moments family!

How did the French Moments’ journey begin?

In case you don’t know who I am, I’m Pierre and I am a content creator on Paris and France.

I was born in Nancy in the northeast of France and I became Australian after many years spent in Sydney.

My wife Rachel and I lived in the beautiful suburb of Mosman where we founded a French Language Centre. We have some amazing memories of our lovely students.

In 2008 we launched our first website which would eventually become a blog dedicated to Paris and France.

In 2014, after the birth of our daughter Aimée the year before, we closed our French centre and relocated to Europe to be closer to our families.

But we kept the blog running and regularly updated it with free, quality content.

A passion for France!

The journey so far has been really interesting, fun, at times challenging and a tad frustrating as our dreams are always bigger than our resources. But the passion for France and sharing it with readers makes it worth while. The number of people giving us lovely feedback each week has taken us by surprise.

Last year frenchmoments.eu welcomed over 1.1 million visitors and our online community reaches more than 50,000 individuals across the world.

People find the blog for many reasons:

  • They want to get some travel information when they are planning a trip to Paris or France.
  • They are doing armchair travelling from the comfort of their home and just enjoying discovering France.
  • They are looking for specific insight about the French culture, or
  • They are researching for their French class at school, university or community college.

What we do behind the scenes…

I’ve been documenting our travels and cultural insights about France for more than a decade and believe me it takes a lot of behind the scenes work to pull it all off.

I do everything myself from blogging, research, photo-shooting, filming, editing, doing the behind-the-scene tasks that you guys don’t see like the admin side.

You don’t see us standing in the rain waiting for the weather to change to take the photo, hours spent fixing coding and technical hitches, weekends and late nights working on research. ?

Family business trips with loads of meetings, moving from place to place and “Are we there yet?“!! But it’s worth it and we love getting the feedback each time we post.

It is a full time job (and then some!) for me and, to be honest with you, it has been a bit of a a challenge to make it sustainable.

That’s why I think it’s time to open my Patreon page for French Moments.

So I can keep creating free content to share with our readers around the world.

What is Patreon all about?

Patreon is a social platform for creators and their audiences.

It is a place where content creators like me can bring people who love what I do and invite them to support me every month with an amount of money they feel is right so I can keep on creating free content for all, which is a pretty awesome goal.

The platform itself is really easy to use and interactive.

Everything is very transparent and of course you can end your membership anytime you want.

My vision with this Patreon page is to create a community with you, the people who love what I do.

And of course, also to be supported by a core membership so I can keep on doing what I do.

Rewards just for you!

Patreon also works in a way that I can offer you rewards, in different categories.

When you become one of my patrons, you will get full access to my feed and you will get little gifts like exclusive photos, new blog posts never published before, discovery ebooks.

For the upper membership tiers there’s also monthly online meetings with me personally.

It’s my way of thanking you.

There will be more features and rewards added over time as the platform grows which is very exciting.

And you can read more about everything on offer in the “about” part of my Patreon page and see all the membership tiers and rewards.

Have a look and see what’s the best fit for you and if you are in a position to become a member we’d love to have you on the journey with us.

Although members get exclusive access to additional posts and features, the website will continue to provide free content to all readers. We’ll also keep sending out our weekly newsletter to everyone on the mailing list as usual too.

Thank you for being part of the French Moments family!

We want to continue building a community of people who love all things French, and where we share our knowledge and passion for France with you.

So thank you so much for stopping by my page and if you’re able to support me and you like the concept of Patreon, I’d be super happy to have you as a member or as we like to say “one of the family”!

A bientôt!
