  • FlexiSpot All-in-One Standing Desk: Our Review

Last Updated: 17 August 2023

My review of the FlexiSpot All-in-One Standing Desk Q8 is now live! I honestly think this is the best standing desk I've tried so far. I already had a very good experience with another product from FlexiSpot (read my review here) but what I'm about to review for you really impressed me. FlexiSpot has gone the extra mile to offer an enhanced and top-quality standing desk. Let's have a closer look!

Receiving and assembling the desk

The parts are packaged separately, so I received two boxes by mail. I was advised that the boxes may have shipped separately and arrived a day or two apart - but they came together!

When I saw the two cardboard boxes waiting for me at the door, I thought it would take me an hour or two to assemble the desk. I've become an expert at building Ikea-type furniture, but I must admit that I had neither the time nor the inclination to become a temporary handyman on this day...

Well, my first surprise was to learn how easy it was to assemble the desk.

The assembly was straightforward, taking about 30 minutes to put together.

It came with two pre-assembled parts (the desktop and the desk frame and two desk feet), 22 screws in total, and a screwdriver.

It was a sunny day outside, so I opted to assemble it in the garden on the grass. I did it while the elements were still in the boxes, resting on the polystyrene packages to protect the glass.

I did it on my own but let me say that the desk is pretty heavy, so you might want to use a helper to turn/move the desks around.

Why the FlexiSpot All-in-One Standing Desk stands out?

There are many things I like about the Q8 Standing Desk. Let's go through a number of features that stand out!

The desktop

The bamboo surface at the top of the table has rounded edges that make it stylish and elegant. Bamboo is twice the durability and elasticity of an ordinary wood.

It was when I was researching this desktop that I found out that bamboo is known to be an excellent material with natural antibacterial properties.

The desktop workspace is large enough to allow me to spread out my resources when working on a research project. And believe me, that's a life-changing feature for me as a content creator!

The programmable controls

However, one crucial feature makes the Q8 standing desk different from other standing desks: the programmable controls. This version of the standing desk has four presets that you can programme at the fit of the perfect height, whether you’re sitting on a chair, a tall stool or standing on your feet!

The integrated control panel also features up and down movement and three USB ports (1x USB Type-A, 1x Type-C)

Wireless charging

The wireless charger brings extra cable-free experience and eliminates the trouble of plugging and unplugging the charging cable.

Anti-collusion function

Now, this function comes very handy. The anti-collision function ensures safety by preventing the desktop from being damaged or crushing other objects and devices while in motion.

Like a child learning to play with a new toy, I wanted to know how high it could go.
125 cm / 49.2 in

And the best of it is that I can adjust it for my height and my daughter’s and programme both presets.

The embedded drawer

Oh, and there is also a large functional embedded drawer to organise your desktop essentials (work accessories and daily sundries).

The load capacity is approximately 2.3 kg, so there is room for a laptop and its accessories.

The best standing desk

Creating content while sitting for hours in front of my computer makes me tired and achy. That's why the FlexiSpot All-in-One Standing Desk is perfect for me, who spent hours in a sitting position.

I liked, in particular, the ability to automatically lower and raise the table. Indeed, the desk makes a great feature for my back, neck and overall posture.

Using the Q8 All-in-One Standing Desk

Here's some personal tips about using the Q8 Standing desk:

  • Ensure there is nothing in the way when using the height adjustment mechanism. Even though it is true that the great anti-collision function does work (I checked it personally when I wanted to adjust the height and a power adapter plugged into the socket in the wall was in the way! The desk simply stopped moving upwards)
  • If you are using a cable to connect your computer or a lamp, make sure you have enough length before changing the desk's height.
  • There is a useful under-desk cable management tray to keep your cords in one place to avoid them intertwining with each other.
  • Don't forget you can use the drawer. It is so well blended with the desk that I started using the table, ignoring it. It's very convenient to store home office supplies and leave the table without a mess.
  • Make sure you don't exceed the weight capacity of 100 kg… although it's unlikely a computer with accessories will weigh that much!

These are obvious tips, but they come in handy for the forgetful like me!

I hope this article will help you get an idea about the product.

Finally, here is a video that presents the desktop and its practical features to complete the analysis.
