Dodo l'enfant do is a French lullaby for children which seems to date from the 18th century.

The story of the song

Dodo, l'enfant do is the shortest of the French lullabies. However the music is relatively old as it reproduces an old carillon which was sounded for the Angelus.

The king's violinist Leclerc harmonised it in 1758 to make a contredanse. This tune was probably appreciated by the nurses and became a lullaby.
